Education Advisers Ltd would like to introduce you to Imperial College’s Global Design Space Challenge, 2023 Summer Course – the most exciting UK summer course and an absolute “must” for aspiring engineering undergraduates.

Please find a prospectus for the Global Space Design Challenge along with an electronic expression of interest form, which can be accessed here GSDC Expression of Interest Form – July 2023

This course is run at Imperial College, the UK’s leading science university and is ideal for the brightest UK and international students (age15-18), who aspire to study science or engineering at the world’s top universities.  It includes an intensive and professional programme of training by expert engineers and academics from Imperial, Oxford and industry-leading space companies. This is followed by an industrial design simulation which exposes students to the joys and challenges of working in a team culminating in an aerospace proposal competition. Students compete in teams to build the best community in outer space.

The course is perfect for students aiming for careers in space science, aeronautical engineering, robotics, or automation. They will experience an exciting, motivational, and competitive space design programme, learning and working with top academics from Imperial and Oxford.

The current UK buzz word in education is “Super-Curricular”. It’s now expected that a high ability student will go above and beyond the curriculum to demonstrate their love of subject and undertake independent study and research. The Global Space Design Challenge does all of that and more.

This 4 day / 5 night fully residential programme runs from 19th-24th July 2023. The cost for UK and EU students is £2195; and for Rest of the World students, the cost is £2695.

Be inspired by Virtual Creative Workshops this summer!

We hope you’re having a good summer holiday, after a busy end to the academic year. During the summer and through the Autumn term, we’re continuing our support to students across the globe with our Virtual Creative Workshops.

Greetings from the University of Chicago!

We are so excited to share a new summer program this year which would offer your students an opportunity to develop their math and science skills while familiarizing themselves with UChicago’s culture of inquiry and beautiful ivy-laden campus.

The Neubauer Phoenix STEM Scholars Summer Program is designed to eliminate barriers to entry that have surrounded STEM fields and help usher in a new generation of changemakers into these fields. This program invites rising high school seniors to campus for a one-week immersive program taught by world-class UChicago faculty, and provides access to college counseling, state of the art facilities, and other resources. The Neubauer Phoenix STEM Scholars program offers talented students an environment of collaborative learning, mentorship, and STEM-focused advising.

Not only will this program offer students tremendous insight and knowledge into college-level STEM courses, but it will also provide a chance to acquaint themselves with our College, our campus, and our community. The opportunity to live in and engage with a major city is one that can be perspective-changing for many summer scholars at UChicago. Chicago is the “City of Big Shoulders”— a city skyline carved by architects of the past and the present. This city is home to some of the most accomplished engineers, scientists, mathematicians, doctors, and inventors of our time. Our university stands on the shoulders of giants, bolstered by the achievements of the Chicagoans and UChicago scholars who came before us, and your students may someday share in these achievements.

If you’re interested in learning more about this opportunity or recommending it to a student, you can visit here. For additional questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to our Program Director, Nicole Mullen at ncmullen@uchicago.edu.

With the new year, we know that you and many of your students are thinking about summer.

Do you have a student thinking about a career in communications or enjoy writing? We have just the thing: the Boston University Summer Journalism Academy, hosted by Boston University College of Communication.

For 13 years, our program has taught high school students in-person and virtually core skills in news reporting, interviewing, and writing, focusing on hands-on experience in and around Boston and their home communities. Taught by award-winning working journalists such as Pulitzer Prize winner Lara Salahi and Rochelle Sharpe, students learn how to follow facts and get to the heart of stories affecting communities.

We challenge students to step outside their comfort zone – and experience life as a working journalist. In the past, our students spoke with policymakers, reported from a massive immigration march, and highlighted issues affecting teens during the pandemic. They learned how to interview strangers, ask probing questions and assemble it in a concise story on deadline.

Students learn practical skills during their sessions and will receive a taste of how a newsroom operates.

The academy now offers two options: an on-campus residential program over three weeks for students with journalism experience and a learn-from-home program over two weeks for all experience levels. For students interested in photography, we offer a special photojournalism track for both.

Applications for the on-campus session June 26 to July 14 are due on April 14. Applications for learn-at-home sessions starting June 19, July 3, and July 17 are due on May 5.

Best of all, students will save $400 off the full fee for the on-campus academy or $200 off the full fee of the learn-from-home academy if they apply, are accepted, and registered in full by March 3.

What’s summer without stimulation for the brain and engaging in amazing activities? The Johns Hopkins Engineering Innovation Pre-College Program is the perfect way for talented high school math and science students to spend the summer.

We’re hosting a series of virtual information sessions so you can learn more about the Engineering Innovation experience. The first session is Saturday, December 17 at 12:00 pm (EDT).

Ask questions and get insider details about the admissions process, understand how to earn college credit, and more from program staff.

Space is limited, so register now!

We have watched participants’ confidence grow through our program’s college-level hands-on projects. Students solve problems, test theories, and ultimately learn to think like engineers.

We look forward to meeting you and talking more about Engineering Innovation!

P.S. Can’t make it December 17? Register for another virtual session:
