Professor Kelly Chibale who is a leading organic chemist and drug discovery expert, addresses global health challenges with a focus on Africa’s contributions and innovations.

Urban epidemiologist Professor Tolullah Oni, based at the University of Cambridge and the University of Cape Town, explores the intersection of infectious and non-infectious diseases in urban environments.

Professor Pete Vukusic who is a renowned BioPhotonics expert at the University of Exeter, leads research on naturally evolved strategies in manipulating light for technological advancements.

Dr. Jason Nurse, an Associate Professor in Computing at the University of Kent, renowned for his cybersecurity research, leads the LIYSF student debate.

Passionate about robots in unstructured environments, robotics expert Dr Dimitrios Kanoulasthe from University College London focuses on robot perception and learning for navigation in uncertain natural settings.

What is it?

Representatives from three world leading universities in London – the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Imperial College London, and UCL – will provide advice and guidance about UK degrees, the benefits of studying in London and the application process. This free session is open to any students, families, school counsellors and education advisors interested in finding out more about university studies in the UK.

Please note that, due to limited seating capacity, we may ask those accompanying prospective students to wait in the venue’s reception area during the main presentation.

LIYSF has been a premier science event since 1959, bringing together 500 of the brightest young science students aged 16-21 from over 70 countries worldwide to connect, share ideas, and learn from world-class scientists. And now, we’re excited to invite you, students aged 16-21 years old, to join us for the 64th edition from July 26th to August 9th, 2023!

Don’t miss this opportunity to participate in a 15-day residential science event based at Imperial College London. They’ll have access to 10 world-renowned scientists – including Nobel Prize winner Professor Ben Feringa – who will deliver the main lecture demonstrations and a choice from 32 specialist lectures across subjects such as Artificial Intelligence, Nano-technology, Engineering, Robotics, Biology, Medicine, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, and Astrophysics.

But that’s not all – students will also have the chance to visit the UK’s best university laboratories in London, Oxford, Cambridge, and other scientific institutions (over 50 on offer), plus enjoy an active social programme to learn about different cultures and make new connections.
