Parsons Paris | The New School

Parsons Paris offers online courses that enable high schoolers interested in learning about fashion to explore this exciting field before they get to college. The choices include a course on the business side of fashion, one on the design side and one on sustainable fashion.

Inside the Business of Fashion and Luxury

This is an online course taught through video lectures by three top industry experts. Topics covered include how trends are born, how sustainability drives innovation, how social media creates a fan base, and more. For those interested in the business of fashion, this course is a must.

Inside Fashion Design: Becoming a Designer for the 21st Century

This is an online course designed for high schoolers who wish to learn about the way fashion is made, the process top designers use to create original style, and the role fashion plays in our culture. Through video lectures by a Parisian fashion designer, students witness how a garment is made, from concept to completion. A final assignment invites students to create their own signature look. This course is ideal for budding designers.

Sustainability: The Future of Fashion

Discover the innovative ways the fashion industry is transforming itself to align with environmental responsibility. Learn about the life cycles of products, eco-friendly approaches to design and materials, the push toward “green branding,” plus college majors and careers related to sustainable fashion.

Personal Mentoring for Guidance—Asynchronous Learning for Flexibility

  • Mentorship: Students will participate in live, online group sessions with a Parsons mentor who assists with brainstorming on your final project and answering questions about your assignments.
  • Asynchronous learning: Course lessons are delivered by renowned professors through video lectures allowing students to study anytime that fits their schedule.
  • Certificate of Completion from Parsons Paris: Students earn this recognition when they finish the course successfully.
