University of Edinburgh – October 2020

Virtual Open Days:

The University of Edinburgh looks forward to welcoming students to their Undergraduate Open Days, which will be taking place online this year. These Virtual Open Days will take place on:

  • Saturday 21 November, 10am – 4pm
  • Friday 27 November, 10am – 4pm

Booking for these events will open soon and will let prospective students on the mailing lists know by email when registration goes live. These events are a great opportunity for students to speak live with academic staff as well as current students to learn more about what it’s like to live and learn here at Edinburgh.

In the meantime, Edinburgh continues to run regular ‘Introduction to the University of Edinburgh‘ sessions which provide an 1-hour overview of what it’s like to study there and the opportunity to ask questions.


Upcoming Virtual Exhibitions:

The University of Edinburgh is excited to be participating in a number of upcoming virtual exhibitions throughout October and November including the British Council’s first ever online Study UK event.

In November the University of Edinburgh is attending all the scheduled UCAS virtual exhibitions, including the UCAS Teachers Conference aimed at teachers and advisers. Each UCAS exhibition is based around a certain theme, with exhibitions taking place on different days at different times.

The events we will be attending in October include:

  • UCAS (Biological and Physical Sciences) on Friday, 16th October from 10:00-16:00 (BST)
  • British Council Study UK: Gateway to Europe from 19th October until 13th November
  • UCAS (social sciences, humanities & teaching) on Friday 23rd October and Saturday 24th October from 10:00-16:00 (BST)

The November exhibitions are:

  • UCAS (Maths, Engineering and Computing), on Monday 2nd November and Tuesday 3rd November from 7am to 8pm (BST)
  • UCAS (Creative Subjects), on Friday 13th November and Saturday 14th November from 10am to 4pm (BST)
  • UCAS (Teacher Conference), on Monday 16th November from 9am to 4pm (BST)

Application deadlines range from December 1 to June 15 depending on citizenship, scholarship application, and programme.

In the Netherlands, admission eligibility is based upon diploma equivalencies. Though Nuffic gives a basic recommendation, each institution can determine their requirements.

Humanitas University Medical School

University of Reading – October 2020

Virtual Undergraduate Open Day:

Due to current government advice regarding the coronavirus pandemic, the University of Reading are sadly unable to run on-campus events. However, they are working hard to provide a range of online resources and virtual events in place.

The Virtual Undergraduate Open Day will take place on Saturday 10 October. Find out more about subjects of interest or attend a talk about halls, finance, study abroad, student life, or careers. This is a great opportunity for students interested in Reading on finding out first-hand what life is like being a Reading student and ask questions to our staff and current students.



Study in the UK Virtual Week:

The University of Reading is taking part in the Study in the UK Virtual Week from 12-16 October 2020, in collaboration with more than 20 UK universities.

Throughout the week, they’ll be running a series of free webinars, live chats and Q&As aimed at offering information, advice, and guidance to prospective students. These sessions will include top tips on applications, preparing for university life and academic subject talks.



British Council Gateway to the UK (EU) Event:

You may already be aware that the British Council will be offering a virtual event this autumn as it is not possible for the usual in country events to take place. Reading will be joining the Gateway to the UK event which starts on 19 October and will run until 13 November 2020.

Students will also have the opportunity to book an individual appointment with me during the 4 weeks of the event. They can do this from the website and there are lots of times available. It will be a good chance for them to find out more and ask any questions they may have.



Virtual 1-2-1 Meetings with International Students:

The international recruitment team is pleased to offer international students the opportunity to book a virtual 1-2-1 meeting with a regional specialist about our entry requirements, courses or living and studying in Reading in general. This will provide prospects with a personal counselling experience.
