NCH London Essay Competition 2021

Enter the NCH Essay Competition. NCH is inviting competition essay entries from students who are currently in their penultimate year of secondary education (Y12 equivalent in England). Selection of essay titles engages across a broad range of humanities and social sciences topics and welcome entries from students located anywhere in the world.

How to enter:

1. Register for the competition – After registering you will be emailed more information

2. Choose one of the essay titles

3. Write your 1,500-word essay

4. Submit your essay via our online form (URL will be emailed to you after you register) by 12:00 pm (Midday) Monday February 1st 2021

Choose your essay title:

Art History: Should the West return cultural artefacts to their former colonial territories?

Creative Writing: It is 2120. There is no longer any such thing as poetry, or poets. What happened?

Data Science: What is the importance of ethics in data science?

Economics: How relevant is economics during a pandemic and in what way might economists make things better?

English: Is literature always a force for good?

History: Will the Covid-19 pandemic change human history?

Law: When, if ever, should one be criminally liable for infecting another person with a disease?

Philosophy: Should robots have rights? Why or why not?

Politics and International Relations: Is democracy experiencing a setback worldwide?

Psychology: Discuss the sources of mental health issues in the modern world

Immerse Education Essay Competition

I am excited to announce that The Immerse Education Essay Competition once again offers students the opportunity to win a 100% scholarship for one of Immerse Education’s award-winning residential or online academic programmes.

Students aged 13-18 are required to submit essay responses to a pre-set question relating to their chosen subject and age group. From categories of every area of interest: MedicineComputer SciencePhysicsEngineeringCreative WritingEnglish Literature, and many more subjects

Jacobs University: 5 Student Scholarships

Greetings from Bremen, Germany!

In view of the current Corona virus (COVID-19) situation, we decided to extend the application deadline for our Full Tuition Scholarships.*
To be considered for the scholarships, students need to complete the application for admission by May 1, 2020. There is no extra application necessary.

We would also like to reassure you that we continue to welcome applications from all students. Aiming for a regular start of the Fall semester 2020 and to avoid all delays for incoming students, we are taking all possible measures to help and accommodate the needs of those who are affected by school and test center closures. We will continue to keep you updated.

Boston University Summer Term

It may be cold outside in Boston, but it’s not too early to start planning for summer. Applications are now live for the 2020 Summer Term High School Programs at Boston University, via our website at bu.edu/summer/highschool.

Next year, we are offering five pre-college programs for your students to choose from. All five provide rigorous and collaborative college life experiences that will enable you to gain a strong sense of your personal and academic potential. Here is a brief overview of our programs:

    • High School Honors is a six-week residential, commuter, or online program in which you take Boston University undergraduate courses and earn up to eight transferable college credits. You must be entering your junior or senior year of high school in Fall 2020.

 

    • RISE Internship/Practicum is a six-week, non-credit residential or commuter program in which you conduct scientific research in a university lab under the guidance of a faculty mentor. You must be a U.S. citizens and entering your senior year of high school in Fall 2020.

 

    • Academic Immersion (AIM) is a three-week, non-credit residential program for you to focus intensively on a single academic topic while enjoying and experiencing life on a college campus. This summer we are offering three AIM tracks: Introduction to Experimental Psychology, Introduction to Medicine, and Creative Writing. Each track combines classroom work in the subject area with experiential learning activities. You must be entering your junior or senior year of high school in Fall 2020.

 

    • Summer Challenge is a two-week residential program in which students take two non-credit seminars of their choice and experience life on a college campus. You must be entering your sophomore, junior, or senior year of high school in Fall 2020.

 

    • Summer Preview is a one-week, non-credit commuter or residential program in which you explore one subject of interest while previewing the college experience. You must be entering your freshman or sophomore year of high school in Fall 2020.
