Johns Hopkins Engineering Innovation Pre-College Programs an enriching academic experience, as students will thrive in one of our courses, offered online and in-person. Created by Johns Hopkins University faculty, students work collaboratively with their peers to learn practical concepts and develop problem-solving skills used by professional engineers. Students will explore diverse topics and engineering disciplines, including civil, mechanical, electrical, biomedical engineering, and more. And students can earn college credit from Johns Hopkins University.

Are you ready on a journey that will ignite their passion for science and innovation? If so, you won’t want to miss out on the London STEM Summer Course hosted by the London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF).

LIYSF has been a premier science event since 1959, bringing together 500 of the brightest young science students aged 16-21 from over 70 countries worldwide to connect, share ideas, and learn from world-class scientists. And now, we’re excited to invite you, students aged 16-21 years old, to join us for the 64th edition from July 26th to August 9th, 2023!

Don’t miss this opportunity to participate in a 15-day residential science event based at Imperial College London. They’ll have access to 10 world-renowned scientists – including Nobel Prize winner Professor Ben Feringa – who will deliver the main lecture demonstrations and a choice from 32 specialist lectures across subjects such as Artificial Intelligence, Nano-technology, Engineering, Robotics, Biology, Medicine, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, and Astrophysics.

But that’s not all – students will also have the chance to visit the UK’s best university laboratories in London, Oxford, Cambridge, and other scientific institutions (over 50 on offer), plus enjoy an active social programme to learn about different cultures and make new connections.

This is an invitation to learn a fundamental topic of a degree course, and discover what it’s like to study your chosen subject at university before you leave school.

Who will benefit from this course?

  • Students who are eager to learn more about their chosen subject and what it’s like to study it at university level.
  • Students who are stuck deciding which subject, course type, or uni is right for them.
  • Students who want to know if a course and university really suit your interests and abilities.
What are the benefits of these courses?

  • Courses are fully funded, so you don’t need to pay to participate.
  • Explore the core foundations of the field of study you are interested in.
  • Boost your CV and personal statement on your university application.
  • Receive a certificate of participation.
  • Book a 1-to-1 meeting with the course academics and university representatives about modules of study, entry requirement or applications deadline.
  • It is 100% online which means you can learn wherever and whenever suits you.

You will be able to do a maximum of 3 courses in total, one per session. However, you may also decide to choose just one course if you so wish.

You will have 14 days to complete the course on the following dates:

Please inform your students that the free application for 2023 Summer Pre-College is currently live! A complete application requires a personal essay, high school transcript, and recommendation form. Applications are reviewed on a rolling, space available basis per program.

In addition, our faculty are planning several Summer Pre-College Information Sessions for students to hear about the programs we offer, what our in-person and virtual pre-college experiences entail, and how to apply.

Our Summer Intensive Studies program allows high school students ages 16 to 18 to gain college credit while pursuing their creative goals. We have courses in animation, fashion, architectural design, printmaking, game design, photography, and more. Students can also take our portfolio development course to prepare for the college application process. Our programs offer hands-on, skill-based learning and interact directly with renowned Parsons faculty.
