Summer 2024 was a success, and the Rosetta Institute is still working on creating new opportunities for high-achieving high school students interested in careers in medicine!
Winter Break 2024 workshops are scheduled, and we are currently taking applications and welcome you student to join us!

Why Rosetta?

The Rosetta Institute of Biomedical Research is entirely focused on creating highly regarded workshops for high-achieving high school and middle school students who want to learn college-level material, be taught by college level professors, and STAND OUT against their peers with college admissions.

Our instructors are PhD-level scientists who are actively engaged in medical research, and they expose students to cutting-edge molecular biology through engaging lectures, real-world labs, and independent projects.  Attendees make friends from around the world, strengthen their academic skills, build their college portfolio, and experience college dorm life in a safe environment.

We offer workshops during both winter break and summer (available in both online and in-person formats), including summer residential programs held at some of the world’s best universities.  During summer 2024 we held workshops at UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, Columbia University in NYC (Ivy League!), Imperial College London, and at our lab in Alameda, CA.  Our in-person workshops included AI-Enhanced Bioinformatics, Molecular Neuroscience, Bioinformatics of Cancer, Molecular Biology of Cancer, Molecular Immunology, Molecular Biology of Aging, Neurological Bioinformatics, and Biomedical Research, whereas our online workshops were Medicinal Chemistry, Medical Bioinformatics and Introduction to Cellular and Molecular Medicine.
Which workshop is the best match for your interests?

Winter Workshops:
The Medical Bioinformatics and Medicinal Chemistry workshops are offered online over winter break from 12/26-12/30 (ages 13-18) (approximately 6 hours/day PST).  These are great workshops for students who want to do research from home or work on a science project.  During winter break we also offer two in-person, commuter-only workshops.  The Biomedical Research workshop is focused on molecular biology laboratory techniques and is held at our lab in Alameda, CA from 12/26-12/31 (approximately 9am-5pm PST).  Cancer Research is also offered at our location in Berkeley, CA from 12/26-12/31.
