Summer Discovery – Gifted and Talented Programs

EXCITING NEWS! Summer Discovery has acquired Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG). SIG provides gifted, academically talented, and creative students dynamic and innovative approaches for supplementing their education, ensuring they receive the individual attention they require.

The addition of SIG, which has programs in over 20 nationwide locations such as Yale, Emory and Bryn Mawr College, provides families more options for their children to experience world-class academics from elementary school to high school.

SIG Summer Residential Programs:

The Claremont Colleges

The Claremont Colleges — Claremont McKennaHarvey MuddPitzerPomona, and Scripps Colleges — are united by a unique spirit of collaboration and connectivity that influences every part of academics, athletics, and student life. The “5Cs” are literally located across the street from one another, so students can attend a small, tightly-focused college even as they enjoy the benefits of a bigger, multi-faceted campus.

Students are invite to attend The Claremont College’s upcoming virtual programs for prospective students, families, and counselors to learn more about the shared and singular approaches to liberal arts education.

Are you curious about what life is like at the 5Cs? Our community members are excited to share! This session features a panel of 5C current students who are eager to answer your questions.

 

Registration for each event will close 24 hours before the event start time. There is a 1,000 person limit for each event, and we will have a waitlist. If on the waitlist students will be notified via email if space becomes available for the event in which you are registered. Event details and access information will be emailed to said student after registration. If on the mailing list for multiple Claremont Colleges, you might receive this invitation more than once. You only need to register once each program you’d like to attend!

New York Film Academy – How to Prepare for an Audition or Creative Portfolio!

The New York Film Academy would like to invite students to a new free webinar taking place Wednesday, February the 10th at 6:00 PM (Central Europe Time) on How to Prepare a Successful Audition or Creative Portfolio. This webinar has proven to be particularly useful for all arts/film/performing arts college applications (not just NYFA’s).

 

During the talk, we will also be discussing NYFA specific scholarships and financial assistance and taking live questions from the audience in attendance. Anyone can easily register to the webinar here.

Parsons Paris | The New School

Parsons Paris offers online courses that enable high schoolers interested in learning about fashion to explore this exciting field before they get to college. The choices include a course on the business side of fashion, one on the design side and one on sustainable fashion.

 

Inside the Business of Fashion and Luxury

Inside Fashion Design: Becoming a Designer for the 21st Century

Medical Studies in Hamburg

Take a chance and visit UMCH’s Online Open Campus Day on February 13th, 2021. During the event students will be informed extensively about the 6-year study program in Human Medicine. In addition, students will learn the most important and exciting details about life at UMCH. Study advisors will be available to students personally and will be happy to answer all questions!

Oxbridge Academic Programs 2021

Schools that have been kind enough to recommend Oxbridge residential study programs to students, have been getting in touch with us to find out about our plans for summer 2021.

 

The good news is that, despite a difficult 2020, Oxbridge is still planning the  36th summer of transformative, four-week, two-week, and week-long programs in Oxford and Cambridge, in France, and in Spain. Oxbridge will be offering the wide range of academic and creative courses for which are known and, for language students in search of practice, there will be running our full-immersion programs in Montpellier and Salamanca.  Alongside, we are organizing a 4-week program in New York in June/July, for which they are busy finalizing the dates.

Cornell University – Summer Programs

Students might benefit from college-level summer study at Cornell University’s Precollege Summer Program, which, due to COVID-19, is offering courses exclusively online this summer.

 

As one of the nation’s longest running and most highly regarded precollege academic programs, it gives students the chance to:

  • Get a head start on college by earning 3 to 6 credits and a Cornell transcript
  • Immerse themselves in rigorous university courses taught by top Cornell faculty
  • Prep for college applications with one-on-one admissions counseling
  • Connect with a diverse group of high school students from around the world

 

Students choose from undergraduate Cornell courses in Arts, Architecture, Business, Hospitality, Health, Humanities, International Relations, Science, Technology, Social Change, Veterinary Medicine, and more. Students can also create their own six- or nine-week program.

Courses are offered between June 1 and August 3, 2021. Limited financial aid is available.
